Natalie Anne Belmonte, 43, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. She was born in Georgetown, Guyana on May 29, 1968 to Reginald and Cheryl Lopes.
Natalie grew up in Guyana with her sister, Michaela Lopes Teixeira and her brother, Reginald Lopes, until she was seven. Then the family moved to Calgary, Canada for two years, before moving to Florida, where Natalie lived for the rest of her life.
Natalie was a vivacious and outgoing child, and a wonderful student. She excelled in school, and after high school earned her degree in Elementary Education from FIU. She worked for brief time as a teacher before marrying her high school sweetheart, Andre Belmonte, in 1988. They welcomed their first child, Brianna, into this world in 1991, and their son, Aidan, in 1993. Natalie was a stay at home mother and raised her two wonderful children until 2000 when she started working at Home Depot.
In 2003, Natalie received her real estate license and began her career in real estate. Her warm personality and sharp mind helped her build a wonderful and successful real estate team. Natalie truly enjoyed her career, and her customers and co-workers always seemed to love and appreciate her.
Natalie is survived by many who adored her, including her parents, Reginald and Cheryl Lopes, her former husband, Andre Belmonte, and her two children, Brianna and Aidan. She is also survived by her sister Michaela Lopes Teixeira, her brother-in-law, Andre and nephews Christian and Noah. Natalie was also survived by her brother, Reginald Lopes, Jr., her sister-in-law, Brooke, and nephew, Matthew.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 24th 4-8 pm, at Boyd Panciera Funeral Home, 100 S. Douglas Rd., Pembroke Pines, FL. Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday, July 25th 10 am, at Blessed John XXIII, 16800 Miramar Parkway, Miramar.

I first met Natalie when I was 10 years old. She usually sat right in front of me in class because my last name was Lopez and her last name was Lopes. She is an amazing person whose smile will always be etched in my memory like the spots you see when you look at the Sun. I will never, ever, forget her. Or that smile.

My deepest sympathy to Natalie’s family. I have known Natalie since she and my daughter Kelly attended St. Ambrose School and both went on to Pope John Paul II High School. I worked at the high school and saw her everyday. She was in my daughter’s wedding. Natalie was always full of life; a beautiful person inside and out. She called me “Auntie Sis”. I am deeply saddened by her death. She will be missed by many.

All these years I have been apart from my friends, and though I miss them, I have never been sad because memories of the times we shared always brings a smile to my face. Today, even though my heart is heavy, I feel blessed to have known Natalie and will forever cherish the times I spent together with her and ‘Bo’.
Andre, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids. May God grant yours and the Lopes family the strength to rise above this very difficult time in your lives.

My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy go to the Lopes and Belmonte families. Words cannot express how heavy my heart is. I too have known Natalie for over thirty years. We first met at St. Ambrose Elementary School. I still remember the first day Natalie entered our classroom. The beautiful girl from Guyanna with a brilliant smile and infectious laugh. We continued on together attending Pope John Paul II High School. After high school we stayed in touch and Natalie stood at the alter with me when I married my husband David. Even though we didn’t speak often, we could always pick up right where we left off…as if no time had past. Just last Saturday we shared communication regarding our 25th high school reunion and had plans to meet up with some St. Ambrose friends. I am still in shock and disbelief and am so sorry for the loss of my friend. Natalie was a beautiful person inside and out. So full of life. May she rest in peace….I know she is flying on Eagles Wings.
Mr. and Mrs. Lopes, Andre, Michaela, Reggie, Brianna and Aiden~I pray for all of you at this most difficult time and hope you find peace knowing Natalie is in Gods hands watching over all of you. God Bless.

To our most dear Andre, Brianna & Aidan, also Peter, Leita, Simone & family and Mr & Mrs Lopes & family,
We can only imagine the deep sorrow and heartbreaking agony that you´re all enduring on the loss of Natalie. No amount of tears, nor words of sympathy, can soften the blows of pain to your hearts. Natalie did what she thought best and, in so doing, sacrificed her all for what she believed in. May the soul of one so beautiful find comfort and rest in the loving arms of Our Heavenly Father. Natalie will always be with us – in our hearts, in the lives she touched, in the friends she made, in the families she joined together and in the beautiful and loving children she left. Please be comforted in knowing that the thoughts of those who love you are with you at this sad time.
With love and blessings.

Deepest and sincerest condolences. God has scooped her up and has her in his loving arms; there is no more pain or suffering where she is. She is smiling on us all and is telling us to use her legacy as an example. She was the most brilliant person I had the priveledge to know. I could not figure out why this could happend and now it is real clear; Natalie did not belong here, she was a angel that was here for only a short time and her time was up. She was not of this earth of corruption, lies, anger and violence;she was none of those things. She was sent here to show us goodness, love and beauty which she did well. God had another plan. May God reach out to you and comfort you during this difficult time. May Natalies memory live within us each day as we struggle to live life without her.

Natalie reached out to me when I was a shy and awkward college freshman. Natalie didn’t know how to be shy or awkward; she only knew how to be warm and friendly. Natalie’s kind, outgoing nature made her my best college friend and altered the course of my life forever. Joe and I would have never met if it weren’t for Natalie and her gift for making friends and bringing people together. Twenty five years and three precious children later, we look back to Natalie with much gratitude. What a special human being! Michaela, Reggie, Cheryl, Reg, Andre, Brianna, Aidan and other loved ones….we are praying for you.

Over the last week, I have fondly remembered my teenage years with both Natalie and Micheala. The many times so many of us invaded Auntie Cheryl’s and Uncle Reggie’s home in the wee hours of the morning. While Reggie slept, not so soundly, Auntie Cheryl would get up and listen to the stories of our night out, somehow managing to find food for a dozen or so hungry teenagers. This is the family I grew up with. Natalie, a sister I limed with.
Uncle Reggie, Auntie Cheryl, Micheala, Reggie and the rest of the family, words cannot describe my sorrow at your loss. I will hold on to the memories of a true friend, knowing that she is now in a better place. Please extend my deepest sympathy to her children.

Memories In The Heart – Unknown
Feel no guilt in laughter, she knows how much you care
Feel no sorrow in a smile that she’s not here to share
You cannot grieve forever, she would not want you to
She’d hope that you can carry on, the way you always do
So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared
Let memories surround you.
A word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day
That brings her back as clearly as though she were still here
And fills you with the feelings that she is always near
For if you keep these moments, you will never be apart
And she will live forever locked safe within your heart.
