Noel Stewart was born on September 5, 1924 in Port Maria, Jamaica, the only child of Mae and Samuel Stewart. He went to high school in Kingston and later attended the University of West Indies, Mona Campus taking classes in hospital management.
As a young man, Noel worked for the Banana Board as a bookkeeping clerk. He later worked for University of West Indies Hospital in a variety of roles with a final position as Purchasing Manager. In 1973 Noel and his family migrated to the United States. In the States he worked at Parkway Hospital and for the State of Florida, where he retired.
Survived by his loving wife Cynthia Walter Steward, children; Lincoln, Winston, and Karen Stewart, step-daughter; Novelett Hamilton, grandchildren; Nneka, Chae, Brittany, Tijaunie, Tyrell Stewart and Paula Smith, great grandchildren; Zane, Tekoya and Briana.
