Noel Livingston Douglas was born on January 4th. 1943, son of the late Jenis and Clayton Douglas in the Parish of Westmorland, Jamaica W.I.
After completing his primary school education, he went to Lucea where he pursued a trade as an auto mechanic with the late Jack Freita. In search of better employment opportunities. he moved to Green Island where he worked with his cousin the late Harry Dennis as a lead mechanic in Winchester. It was during his time in Winchester, that he met Dorrett Besley with whom he had two children Angela and Devon. Affectionately, known as “Douglas, Mr. T, Mr. D, Dougs, Grandpa and his favorite “Pops”.
In 1964, Noel migrated to the United States in search of a better life. After Penske trucking company filed for bankruptcy. Noel opened his own garage C&C Auto Repair @95th St & Rutland Road, Brooklyn. Which he operated for several years during which he built a large clientele and developed several friendships, some represented here today. Noel was a man of many words, he expressed his love through his actions, He was stubborn, hardworking, and skilled at what he does. Noel was a lover of cars and music. Loved to dance “He was a lover”. His attention to detail and perfectionism was infectious, like anyone he had his little ways, he hated inefficiency, bureaucracy, and hypocrisy. Everything had to be in place.
His love for his children and grandsons were unconditional, and this is something they will cherish from his character and will take with them forever. Having his fill of the “New York” winters, in 1989 he relocated to West Palm Beach. He continued to work until about 2years ago when his health started to decline, until finally succumbed on December 15, 2021.
His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all, who had the pleasure of knowing him. Although Noel may never have said it loud, he was truly proud of his children and grandsons, and the way they all have grown up. Noel is survived by daughter Angela (Mark), son Devon (Jackie) Douglas of Pembroke Pines; 2 grandsons Stephen and Sean; 4 sisters Maureen UK, Dawn, Andrea, and Faith. USA; 2 brothers Neville and Donovan USA. aunts, nieces, nephew, cousins, and host of friends to mourn. Pops, Grandpa, we love you, and we miss you.

Remembering Noel:
I met Noel back in the early sixties on Winchester Farm in Green Island Hanover, Jamaica and saw him may be once or twice again in New York. I have always wondered and be amazed of how classy and distinguished he was at that time, especially in rural Jamaica where we are a bit more laid back and casual in dress and speech. He was always neatly dressed well spoken and an overall classy guy. Oh!! Before I forget, he was a top class mechanic that could close his eyes and fix any tractor or car. He was admired like a local hero and he trained a lot of young men that went on to be professional mechanics. Love you Noel, so sorry that we were not in contact in recent years. Condolences to his wonderful children Devon and Angie and to the entire family.

Dearest Devon, Jackie, Stephen & Sean,
My deepest condolences to you during this very difficult time. May you find comfort knowing that your dad’s/
pop’s/grandpa’s pain and suffering has ended, and he is at peace. The Bible declares that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”(2 cor 5:8). Therefore, may the fond memories of him, along with the peace of God which transcends all understanding bring comfort to your grieving hearts and minds. He will remain in all our hearts forever.
We love you!!❤️
