Patricia Delaney, born in Washington, DC on 2/19/34, passed away peacefully in her home on March 2, 2024. She was with her family and under the magnificent care of her Vitas Hospice Team.
Daughter to Agnes and Austin “Chris” Christman, Ms. Delaney grew up between Washington, DC and Southern MD, raised her children in Adelphi, MD, while later relocating to Hollywood, FL. She met her husband John N. Daley, “Jack” at George Washington University, married and later divorced, and had 4 girls in 4 years, whom she told everyone about ~~ Patricia Ann Daley, Kathy Daley DenHartog, Mary Daley Greenwood and Christiana Daley.
She was survived by her four daughters; 4 grandchildren, Joseph J. denHartog (deceased), Rachel Den Hartog, Sara Russell, and Mack Burton; great-grandson, Joseph B. Ramey; daughter-in-law, Courtney Vaughn, son-in-law, Jerry denHartog and son-in-law, Billy Greenwood, and Justin Russell.
Some of her greatest joys in life were talking about her girls, traveling, freely sharing her thoughts about religion, attending daily mass at St. Camillus Catholic Church in Adelphi, MD and Little Flower Church in Hollywood, FL, volunteering at Poverello Center Thrift Store and Kitchen, revelling in Democratic politics, and living in her condo on Hollywood Beach, FL. She also enjoyed the beach, swimming, music, and tap and ballet dancing. Late in life, she enjoyed the loving care of Christiana and her daughters and was cared for by a tremendous Hospice Care Team, in her home.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, March 8th, 12:00 PM at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Hollywood, FL. In memory of Patricia Delaney, donations may be sent to Broward VITAS Hospice Office 2905 N. Commerce Pkwy Miramar, FL 33025, or Poverello 2056 Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors, FL 33305.
