A best friend is someone who is different, but the same. Death is only sad when the cover closes before the story is finished. Phillips death brings a heartache no one can heal, but his LOVE gives us memories no one can steal. Phillip has a Strong Soul and a Powerful Spirit !! His Soul belongs to him but now his Spirit belongs to God . I will miss you Dearly, along with my Family . He touched the lives of my Brothers , my Sister and also my late Mother. I pray Gloria and her Family find strength in their Soul and Love in their Spirit to carry forward. I Love You Phillip, with all my heart.

Gloria and family, I was so sad when Sean shared your news with me last week. As my brother said, Phillip touched our lives, for so many years, and it was always a blessing to see you and Phillip and your children at so many happy events. Stan and I were so lucky to spend time with him and his brother when they visited us in Palm Harbor. As it says here, losing Phillip is a tragedy for a family who already had their share – A deep loss and my heart breaks for you all. Wishing you peace today as you are surrounded by people who love you and honor his memory. Donna

When I first met Rodney (AKA) Phillip, he was a tall thin kid with a military haircut on the swim team.
Growing up in a small town in Georgia we had plenty of space, to make our own adventures – rivers, lakes & trails. And boy we did have some GREAT adventures together.
Those were good times! We were much more than neighbors, Rodney was the only friend who my grandfather liked. I can still hear my grandfather calling him “Big Boy” because he was so tall.
He was always welcome at my grandparents house, a very rare thing.
Now 43 years later I cry because I’ve lost a life long friend. We all cry because we lost a special soul.
Rodney touched so many of us for the good. Jovial, compassionate, diligent – A friend through thick and thin with a genuine kindness that is rare. The world is a better place for everyone lucky enough to know him. Rodney always struggled with an addiction – Workaholic – He would help anyone anytime, anyplace to do anything. He was a man who could never say “No”… working insane hours and still make the time to come over and fix your washing machine.
Sometimes you have to get it right the first time, naming my son after Rodney 29 years ago, is a testiment to the high regards I hold for this man.
If we all could pick just one of Rodney’s good traits and try to live up to him, he will live on always –
We were boys together and always will be.
I think if Rodney could speak to us now, he would say sell your Budweiser stock.

My caring big teddy bear, my kind and humble beautiful soul. You were fine one moment and the next you were gone. I’m left in heartbreak, shock and a crazy void, along with all who loved you. Your voice, your presence, your love, your hard work, your cooking, your ability to fix anything; We are going to miss you so much. You were a blessing to everyone that knew you. You always gave me so much love and made sure you told me. Words aren’t enough, now I understand that phrase. Time, it’s treasure. Cherish it. Please watch over us and give us the strength we need. Until we meet again. It was and will always be an honor to be your daughter in law. Rest In Paradise.
