Pochly Claude Bardel passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 after a courageous six years battle with cancer. He was fifty eight years old.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Pochly Claude Bardel brought light, laughter, and creativity to everyone he met. His life was a beautiful blend of art, humor, and love, a reflection of the vibrant soul that he was.
He was a committed member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and drew great strength and comfort from his faith. A true artist at heart, Pochly attended Parsons School of Design, where he studied Product Design and developed a deep passion for ceramics. Guided by his creativity and vision, he founded Tosh Design, through which he shared his uniquely crafted ceramic vases with admirers around the world. His designs, often bursting with bold colors and life, reflected his joyful personality and his deep appreciation for beauty in all things.
Pochly was a caring father to his two beautiful daughters Ciani and Victoria Bardel, who were his pride and joy. He was also the beloved son of Mireille Edouard, who lovingly stood by his side until his passing. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Guy, Karl-Henry, Frantz, Vanessa; his former wife Karine Duverger; and his beloved partner of eight years Nadie Gressine who was by his side through every step of this difficult journey.
Those who knew Pochly will remember his infectious laughter, his love for jokes, and ability to find humor in any situation. The joker of every gathering, he could make anyone smile and never missed a chance to share a laugh. He loved to travel, explore new places, and celebrate the beauty of life in all its forms.
Pochly’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, his family, friends, and all those touched by his art and warmth. His life reminds us that joy can be found in the simplest moments and that color, creativity, and love are meant to be shared.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire light, laughter, and love in all of us.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Northwest Dade 7th Day Adventist Church.
Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.

Pochly, you filled every room with laughter and joy. From the first time I met you, I knew you were someone full of light. It meant so much to see how you made my cousin laugh—your energy and jokes were truly infectious. Rest in peace, my friend. I’m so grateful I got to meet you and experience the incredible spirit you shared with everyone

“God is a boundless ocean of Spirit and love, and man being a drop from this ocean, it follows that he can never die and will
always be as the fish in the river, forever swimming in the ocean of God’s mercy and love.”
May the blessings be. 🙏

Clyde Bermingham – (Cousin to Pochly) –
(POCHLY was named after a Mexican god of MOTION … who never sits still . So I was told by my Uncle Jean-Claude who makes him.)
I am still adjusting …. and still beyond words alone at this present time – (Friday – 6:33am – 10/17/25 ) – while writing this draft trying to express myself a bit in due time before the services for Dearest 🙏🏽 Cousin , POCHLY .
(But I feel there is so much more I would have to say again later about & on behalf of POCHLY )
DEAREST 🙏🏽POCHLY – We were long lost relatives until we met while Pochly was still teenager , just about 4 years younger than me .
But from that moment on , until this very moment… it was , and still is as if it were FOREVER PRESENT. (If that could make any sense grammatically.)
Though I think that everybody who knows Pochly knows how Pochly could just disappear without notice … until we see him again whenever .
The one thing constant about POCHLY is that POCHLY is just always moving around . He can never sit still for too long . It’s just against his very nature … it would seem. )
From the years that have passed through growing up together …. there is so much to say …. about the Amazing One Of A Kindness of POCHLY
But in my deep sorrow 🙏🏽 , I still have to say this in a Crazy Humorous way that was POCHLY’s
POCHLY did another ‘POCHLY’ on us again …. 🙏🏽😓🙏🏽
(Oh … DEAREST …. CRAZY FUNNY … NEG MAROON 🙏🏽)
He would say:
“YOU SEE ME NOW ….. YOU DON’T SEE ME ..:. UNTIL YKU SEE ME AGAIN … UNTIL I SHOW UP AGAIN …. WHEN I SHOW UP.”
POCHLY could never sit still for too long .
POCHLY would so often just TAKE OFF without a moment’s notice .
POCHLY’S favorite statement to me :
“COMMISSION …. COMMISSION !!!”
(“I’VE GOT AN ERRAND TO RUN …., I’LL BE RIGHT BACK !” )
And he’d off … and GONE … until I see him show up again … whenever …
(Even right now, at this very present moment … it still feels a bit … as if he has to show up again .. a bit later … whenever he does … )
It’s not easy to say GOOD BYE 😓🙏🏽
It’s not even possible … to say GOOD BYE 🙏🏽😓🙏🏽
POCHLY … seems to be always a PRESENT …. & FUTURE TENSE
All the memories are still present … yet expecting something new
Some CRAZY KIND OF NEW thing to be expecting from POCHLY
Some Crazy Humorous Surprise just waiting to show up from nowhere , seemingly
I’m not able to say “Good Bye “ …. IT’S NOT BEARABLE 🙏🏽
It’s NOT ABLE …..
It’s NOT SUITABLE ….
I’ll see him when I see him 🙏🏽
We’ll see him …. when we see him 🙏🏽 …. AGAIN ❤️🙏🏽
POCHLY is always a PRESENT & FUTURE TENSE
(There is just so much …. and just too much …. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 🙏🏽)
(To Be Continued ….)

Pochly loved the Lord, and, with his whole heart, sought to know him better. I was privileged to be one of his facebook friends who admired his dedication to share God’s word with others. Pochly will be greatly missed; however, I am comforted to know that he will be one of the first resurrected at the sound of the trumpet of God.
Paix à son âme, till the great reunion! 🙏🏽💐🥲

Our deepest Sympathy, Cici and Vicky,
I know you are devastated by your father’s death.
Mommy is there, giving you strength and courage to bear the sorrow.
Daddy is also there, giving you the support you need to stay strong.
Remember that he is not with you physically, but the love he had for you will be there forever, and he will continue to live in your hearts. Tati loves you.
Hugs and kisses
