Rafael Virgilio Arias, age 77, a 21-year resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away on June 9, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 20, 1947 to Ricardo Aguasvivas and Gilma Arias in Baní, Dominican Republic. At 14 years of age, he relocated to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where he owned and operated a convenience store.
In 1968, together with his brother Emiliano Arias, he immigrated to the United States where he established himself in Lawrence, MA. He worked at a local factory and later the public school system until 2003, when he retired and moved to Pembroke Pines, FL with his wife of 54 years.
Rafael is survived by his wife, Elsa, and four children, Edwin of Greensboro, NC, Joshua of Lawrence, MA, and Vanessa and Priscilla of Pembroke Pines, two granddaughters, Sofia and Aliyah, by his seven siblings and many nieces and nephews.

My sister, Irma, married his son Edwin, that’s how I met Don Arias. Always a funny, good spirited man, he had a special place in my heart. RIP Don Arias, you will be missed 🥺♥️🙏🏼
