Ramon Rivera was born to the late Luisa Otero and Agrepino Rivera, a carpenter and midwife, in Morovis Puerto Rico on March 12, 1929. He was a hardworking, family man who spent his life caring for those he loved. As a child, he spent his time working in the fields of Puerto Rico harvesting root vegetables and tobacco to help support his family. In his mid-twenties he left Puerto Rico for the United States where he worked as a farmer and carpenter, later retiring from the City of Miami after 20 years of service.

Ramon was blessed with a large and loving family. He raised his children and grandchildren with patience and humility, showing them unconditional love. Most of all, Ramon enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Large family gatherings for the holidays were a regular occurrence and he especially loved family trips to Puerto Rico and Disney World!

On Friday, May 27th, 2022, Ramon passed away at home with his family bedside him. He is loved and will be greatly missed! He is survived by his wife, Magdalena Rivera and children, Ramon Rivera, Maria Rivera, George Rivera, Milton Rivera, Melvin Rivera, Jeffrey Rivera, and Sylvia Rivera. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 7:00 – 10:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 8:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Graveside Service will be on Friday, June 3, 2022, 11:00 AM at Caballero Rivero Dade North.
