Koch, Richard J., Dick, 69, 302 Washington St. passed away April 22, 2004 from complications related to lung cancer. He was raised in Union Springs, New York, by his now decaesed parents. John L. and Wilma Jorgenson Koch. He graduated from Union Spings High School in 1952 and moved to Geneva in 1955 in conjunction with his marriage to Jean Maher. Dick joined the Geneva Fire Department in 1962 and worked in the Hook and Ladder division as a firefighter/ diver. In addition to his 35 year career as a fireman, Dick was a certified electrician, member of the IBEW union and worked for Maher Electric. Subsequent to his retirement in 1998, Dick and his wife Jean, spent winters in Hollywood, Florida. He was an avid sports fan and espically enjoyed watching his granddaughters compete in softball, going deep sea fishing, and watching Syracuse Univerity Sports. The family would like to suggest that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made on behalf of Dick to the Nestor Hose Company, Geneva Fire Department.
