We always have that one cousin who will always have a special place in our hearts – even if we don’t see them often. Richard you know it was you. Having the same birthdate was our special bond.
The family reunion you organized in 2022 was just one of the numerous ways you showed your pride and love for your family. Whether it was FL or NYC whenever you came to town it was usually a large gathering filled with love and laughter. I will not forget those memories.

Now your flying with the angels high above
Soaring like a bird, sending down your love
Despite the fact we are apart
The love we shared is deep in my heart
Your spirit is now easy and free
Filled with tranquility and peace – Let It Be

I had the pleasure of being one of his first customers back in the early 80’s and also being one of his most loyal customers. Business aside he was a remarkable man and always supported my third world building projects and community Outreaches.
I will miss his laugh and his eclectic taste in music as well as his insight into the human condition.

Richard we shall miss your eternal optimism, sense of humor, and the great times over the past 50 years or so of just hanging out and doing great things like super concerts and fine dining. We are glad that after a bit of a hiatus we renewed our relationship 2 years ago or so and had some great fun together again.

May you find eternal peace as I am sure you are in a better place now!

I first met Richard back in the 70’s when he joined his Dad at Tropical Asphalt. He was one of the most kind and respectable people I have ever met. Never a harsh word. Always positive. I will miss you Richard.

Heartbreaking news! We hadn’t been in touch in a few years, but Richard was a kind and happy soul. We lived across from each other in the dorms at the University of Iowa. Many good times and many fun visits to Ft Lauderdale back in the day. As his family knows, he was well-loved by those who knew him. My condolences.

I feel truly fortunate to have known Richard over the past six years in Los Angeles. He was such a remarkable man, always eager to share stories of his adventures and travels, and always speaking with deep pride about his children and his beloved granddaughter. He often told me how effortless their bond was, how they simply understood each other, and how much joy she brought to his life.
Richard offered sage advice with a gentle spirit and had an extraordinary gift for seeing the good in every situation and in every person. His gratitude, optimism, and zest for life were inspiring. I am deeply grateful for the time I had with him and for the opportunity to share space with such a kindred spirit. He will remain an enduring inspiration.

Monday’s child, who slept early,
And woke up early, with the world in his hands so surely.
He fought like a Somali pirate, our giant of grace,
And moved with a silence that set a quiet pace.

He could fight a current, he could foster any child with care,
He could love all, beyond compare.

He was our tyrant, Richard, you see,
The one who petitioned all hearts and lived so freely.

I would have never pictured this day; I shivered,
with nothing left to do.
A part of me will forever be Blue.

To his family and friends, my deepest condolences.
May his memory bring you comfort and peace.

Phillip, My most sincere condolences for your loss. Your Father was great friend for over 45 years. And always there for me in times when I encountered life’s unkind struggles. It broke our hearts to watch the anguish of his suffering the last couple of months after such wonderful times together in Europe and Argentina after his retirement. He was a strong man with deep convictions. And always so proud of you. He will be sadly missed by many. I’m truly heat broken at the loss of such a dear friend! His light will always shine brightly in my heart! God Bless!
