Roberto Neumann

November 14, 1941~January 12, 2023

On January 12, 2023, Roberto Neumann succumbed to a years long health battle and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.  Roberto is survived by his devoted and caring wife of 55 years, Margarita Neumann; his best friend and son, Roberto Neumann, Jr.; his daughter (in-law) Andrea Neumann, and his funny-faced grand-dog and partner in crime, Buffy.

Roberto was born November 14, 1941 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.   He was an electronic technician, radio and television repair technician, architect, business owner and problem solver.   Roberto made it a point to work harder than anyone else at everything he did, so that he could feel satisfaction at a job well done, but also so that he could always remind you that you were doing it wrong.

His favorite activity was serving dinner to those he loved, and the love was plentiful.   If you met Roberto, you were fed a good meal and given a glass (or two or three) of wine.  Most certainly, you were regaled with tales of parties, politics and pastimes from his life in Argentina.   If you ever left Roberto’s home without the knowledge regarding the per capita consumption of beef in the country of Argentina, you weren’t paying attention.

Having survived so much as a young man such as tragic accidents, personal hardship, and regime changes, Roberto clung closely the things that mattered.   He cherished his wife and his son, and was proud of the life he had created upon immigrating to the United States.   He worked hard for everything he had.

The last few years of his life he bravely fought his illness as his body failed him, but his spirit never did.  From his hospital bed, he would direct his son to go home to his wife and get something to eat.   In fact, his last spoken words to his son were that he needed to go home and get some rest.   Roberto was always thinking about the well-being of those he loved, even to the very last day.   There is no more appropriate exit for him from this earthly plane than to have given orders to those he loved, and to know that they did what was asked of them.

Roberto was a singular individual:  passionate, observant, stubborn, and quick to laugh.  We will always remember the joy of sharing a meal with him, listening to his stories of his youth, and receiving yet another pour of wine around the table celebrating whatever called for a raised glass that day.  Cheers, prost and salud to our father, husband and hero.
