Dr. Ronald R. Kolbert of Delray Beach passed away on October 8, 2020 at the age of 85. Dr. Kolbert was born in Newark, New Jersey, and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith, son Steven, son Warren and daughter-in-law Mary Catharine, and grandchildren Grace and Charlie.
Dr. Kolbert was a graduate of Temple University where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1959. He soon established a private practice in Maywood, New Jersey prior to moving his practice to South Florida. He continuously treated patients until his retirement in 1996, at which time he and Judith moved to North Carolina for several years before relocating back to South Florida and settling in Delray Beach.
Between his time in Florida and North Carolina, Dr. Kolbert pursued his loves of woodworking, boating, ocean and fly fishing, golf, photography, light construction, and home improvement. He was a lifetime member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, a Rotary Club member, and delivered Meals on Wheels to those in need.
A private memorial service will be held sometime in the future. The Kolbert family requests donations, in lieu of gifts, be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation.
