On December 9, 2021 Rosa Maria Kavanagh Puget Romanach passed peacefully with her family by her side in Hollywood, Florida. Born August 30th, 1932 in Camajuaní Las Villas, Cuba.
Rosa, or Rosy, lived an incredible life. She attended the Universidad de Habana where she earned her Doctorate in Pharmacology. In 1953 she married Alfredo Armando Kavanagh De Grijalba at Iglesia de Santo Tomas de Villanueva, whom she would go on to spend 67 years lovingly married to.
In 1957 the couple welcomed their daughter Rosa Beatrice into the world. In 1965 the family of three immigrated to Connecticut where they lived for the next 46 years. Upon moving to Connecticut, Rosy pursued a career in toxicology and worked for the State of Connecticut for the next 25 years. Aside from her successful professional career, Rosy was an avid painter and world traveler. She very much enjoyed visiting her family in Ibiza, Spain as well as traveling to exotic locations around the world. From Egypt to China, she lived life to the fullest; always the life of the party and always entertaining with her stories and dancing. She was a person of immense integrity and conviction; passionate about her beliefs and never shy to share her opinions.
She loved her family dearly and she will be missed for years to come. She is survived by her husband, Alfredo Armando Kavanagh De Grijalba, daughter, Rosa Beatrice Margeson, and two grandchildren, United States Air Force Officer, Major Owen Margeson and Dr. Carrie Margeson, Doctor of Pharmacology.

My heart goes our to Rosa’s family as they are going to miss her dearly. She loved life itself as well as her family. I use to love going to their house when I was growing up. I adored her mother [Rosa’s grandmother]. There was an usually an Amazing aroma throughout their house from her cooking.
