Ryan Matthew Schoel, 29, of West Park, Florida, passed away on May 8th, 2021.
Born in Hollywood, Florida on September 24, 1992, Ryan spent his childhood in Margate and Dania Beach. Ryan graduated from South Broward High School in Hollywood, and had a thriving career in the elevator repair industry with his father, working for KONE Elevator.
Ryan’s love for fishing and boating was apparent from a young age, as he spent his days on the water with his family and friends. Ryan loved the water – enjoying a true Floridian lifestyle, clearly inspired by his parents, who introduced him to fishing and boating. Ryan found his peace when fishing, his true passion.
Ryan was a free spirit with an incredibly infectious smile – lighting up any room he entered, and making those around him feel at ease in his presence. Whether an old friend or a complete stranger, Ryan treated everyone like family. His sharp wit and sense of humor charmed all those around him. Ryan lived his life with a sense of adventure – taking on new challenges whenever the opportunity presented itself. A daredevil at heart, Ryan lived his life to the fullest. His kind heart is already missed.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Catherine Mahoney, along with his 2 siblings, Isabella and Anthony Walters, of Chiefland, Florida; his father Matt Schoel, of West Park; and grandfather William B. Mahoney, Jr., of Margate. Additional family members he is survived by include Doug Schoel (Uncle), William B. Mahoney, III (Uncle), Madeline Mahoney (Aunt), and Patricia Eberling (Aunt).
No formal services will be held. Instead, Ryan’s life will be celebrated the way Ryan would have wanted – outdoors by the ocean, surrounded by water with those that loved and cared for him.

Ryan was amazing. He was a gentle soul. Silas and Sam loved and looked up to their older cousin. He was always attentive to them when we visited. They loved hanging out with Ryan and fishing with him. I remember when Ryan was a little boy… Doug and I took him to the Keys with us. He got a huge kick out of feeding the fish in Islamorada. He had a special bond with Ginny and Norm…actually everyone. I will miss you, Ryan! I loved you very much. Aunt Daune

From the Bobo Family to the family members of Ryan Schoel. My sincere condolences for your loss. I met Ryan though his father Matt. He was a vibrant young man who had a smile that could light up the room. He enjoyed talking about fishing, and more so actually fishing. Our prayers are with you during this time.

Ryan was such an amazing person, whom everyone gravitated towards. Always making u feel comfortable around him. I’ve known him since he was young teenager coming around the job site ,Espirit dos Santos while his dad was running the union elevator work for Montgomery Elevators.
I always remember Ryan being a young happy energetic kid that got along with everybody. No matter who you were ,within minutes of hanging out with him , you would feel like knew Him for years. At the job I remember watching him grow up and being his dads best friend , going fishing and Lobstering, he was awesome at all of it. I had him as my student in my elevator class and All the other students looked up to him as a leader ,every body always loved him. He was a good elevator man following in his father’s footsteps and just the best kid.
We we all are going to miss you so much Ryan.
may you rest in peace buddy
Hope ur looking down on us with fishing pole in one and huge fish in the other.
