Stella Ann Fugo

November 08, 1921~March 08, 2010

Stella Ann Fugo, 88, of Pembroke Pines passed away very unexpectedly Monday
March 8, 2010. Originally from Syracuse, New York, Stella, her husband Tony, and their three children made Florida their home in 1959. Stella made a life for her family by juggling three jobs while still managing to make her house a home. In 1983 she retired from her job with the Pembroke Pines Police Department after 20 plus years, and dedicated the rest of her life to what she loved the most; her family, friends, and church. Stella was the light that everyone couldn’t help but want to be around. She was one of the most beautiful, dedicated, loving, faithful, and genuine women anyone had the pleasure of knowing. Stella truly was an angel on earth, and will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by Anthony “Tony” Fugo, her loving husband of 60 years. She is survived by her sister Josephine Fuoco, of Hollywood; son Anthony Fugo, of Marietta, GA; son John Fugo and wife Cristine, of Chapel Hill, NC; daughter Michelle Weech and husband Ron, of Southwest Ranches; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held to celebrate Stella’s life at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church on Monday, March 15th at 11:30am. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Stella’s memory to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 701 North Hiatus Road, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026-4034.

Your mother was a beautiful lady, whom I had the pleasure of meeting, while taking care of your father. I’ll never forget the many conversations we had regarding her family. She loved you all dearly. My sympathy and prayers go out to all of you.
