I am in shock. We played hoops together weekly when he was in Coral Springs. We had deep conversations about Buddhism. I helped him move out of Coral Springs. Condolences to his family.
I’ll see you in the next one, bro !

Just reached out to catch up with Stephen and learned the sad news. We were clinic partners in the Immigration Clinic at the University of Miami and worked together to obtain convention against torture relief for a client detained at Krome. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my professional and personal life. We kept in touch on and off over the years as he told me about Buddhism and healthier eating, which did not come natural to me, and how happy he was to meet his wife. Stephen was always joyful, funny, and thoughtful of other’s feelings. He will be deeply missed. My most sincere condolences to the family. May his memory be for a blessing.
