“We cannot, Lord Thy purpose see, but all is well that’s done by Thee.”

Mom, you will be dearly missed. In your time on this earth you touched so many lives with your love (especially of children), your kindness, your laughter, your joy in living.

In the hearts of those who loved you, you will always be there. Gone but not forgotten, gone but ever here. No longer living in this world, but always and ever near.

I met Grandma East as a young child when she visited her daughter and grandchildren in Jamaica. She quickly took me as her own granddaughter and always had an open invitation for me when I visited her home on Florida. She was a very sweet lady who always had a pleasant smile and loving demeanor. She will be missed by all those She encountered. Rest in perpetual peace Grandma East. We love you but God loved you more….xoxo

Words are inadequate to express my heart felt gratitude for the greatest educator, mentor, mother, role model and friend. Her love had no boundaries known unto men. She was selfless in her endeavors, especially with children. She was the one to tell my aunt Enid that I was special. She saw in me my true potential and worked diligently to harness the skills needed for success. She left an indelible impact on the student at St Leonard’s All Age school. Under her leadership, as principal the school saw a sizable increase in the number of students successful in the Common Entrance Exam. Ms East, as we call her, aunt Ther, was very kind and friendly, helping everyone she encountered. In elementary school, I had dinner at her home every Christmas and she gave me a “goody bag” with everything. She was special to me. After I left St.Leonards, I would see her during holidays when she would inquire about my well being and success inhigh school. She was a very supportive, an amazing woman of God. May she rest in peace with power in paradise and perpetual light shine on her soul.Gone but never forgotten.
