Dear Mary,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Tom’s death and I would like to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family.
Over the time I gave Tom a ride home I remember how he used to proudly talk everyday about Carla and Meghan. We would compare stories about our children, their accomplishments, the growing pains, etc…but most of all the joy they give us. He was indeed a proud dad.
May God Bless you at this sad time and may the wonderful memories make you strong throughout the days ahead.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely,

To the Smach Family
I am very sorry for your loss. Tom was a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of working with him at Aeroturbine in the Overhaul shop. He was my boss and a real good one. He was always helpful and stood up for his employees. I know all of us in the Overhaul shop became real attached to Tom. We all enjoyed our talks with Tom and enjoyed playing jokes with one another. We’ve had many laughs that we will never forget. You could always talk to him if you had a problem and he always gave good advice. He also spoke a lot about his family and dog. Tom was a very proud father and spoke a lot about Meghan & Carla. He would tell us all sorts of stories. Some were very funny. He would always tell us about their swim meets and if they had gotten a good grade on their tests in school. He showed us Meghan & Carla’s school pictures. He especially loved those chocolate shakes that his girls would make for him. He also would give us chocolate or share his chocolate pudding. Tom gave me my yellow band which I wear everyday. Now I will wear it proud and think of my friend Tom.
Tom Smach was a special person and he will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I enjoyed his fellowship and working as an official with him, and wished as with so many other also that time constraints would have allowed me to know him better.
