With profound sorrow, we announce the departure of our cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, Tristan Eric Tyler Johnson-Spence, who departed from us on September 30th, 2023, at the age of 35.

Fondly known as Tris among friends and family, he entered this world on October 11, 1987, born to Marlene Johnson-Spence and Stafford Lopez in Jamaica, New York. Tristan’s formative years were spent in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he attended school, pursued his career, and ultimately lived until his untimely departure.

Regardless of the demands of his day, Tristan consistently made time for his loved ones. A devoted and compassionate father, son, brother, and friend, he stood by his daughter, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends whenever they called. Tristan possessed an infectious sense of humor and had the uncanny ability to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.

Tristan is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eric Johnson, Daisy Johnson, and his Aunt Hermaine Afflick. He is survived by his grieving parents, Marlene Johnson-Spence and Stafford Lopez, his daughter Saniya Johnson, his beloved girlfriend, Melanie John and his siblings: Kwabana Johnson-Fitch (Michael Fitch), Jospehea Spence (Ricardo Picart), Keisha Lopez, Diana Lopez, Stafford Lopez Jr., Abigail Lopez, Shakierra Lopez. Additionally, he leaves behind 8 nephews: Malachi Salley, Malcolm Salley, Aidan Fitch, Raheeme Brown, Dimitri Lopez, Joshua Lopez, Emmanuel Osuna-Lopez, Elijah Ramal-Burke, and 4 nieces: Amiya Fitch, Xyla Picart, Zion Lopez, and Zemira Ramal-Burke and his dear friends who were like family to him. His absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service to commemorate his life will take place on October 14, 2023, at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, situated at 1600 N University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. In lieu of floral tributes, the family kindly requests contributions to the GoFundMe account established in Tristan’s memory.
