April 16, 1980~April 19, 2023

FINNEY, Valentino D., 43, 0f Davie, was born on April 16, 1980 in Staten Island to Theresa Correa and Richard Finney.  He was 6 lbs. 4 0z. and was a sweet and kind little boy who loved playing  football and baseball.  He was a good student and in High School  found his love of cooking.  After High School he attended the Art Institute of Culinary Arts.  He worked different jobs as a chef but found his second home for the last eight years at the Village Tavern.  As an adult he loved his fantasy football team, watching  football, hanging out with his dogs, Lily and Elsa and spending time with his family.  Tino was a beloved son, as a brother he was always there for Valerie and he absolutely adored and loved his nephew, Anthony and niece, Hannah.

On April 19, 2023 he had a horrific car accident and was pronounced deceased at 10:10 PM.  As a family we can’t begin to express how the loss of Valentino will render us now and in the future, we are all in shock an the pain of losing him is unmeasurable.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a future date to be announced.

Tino was a huge part of my childhood and many of my most fond memories were with him, his sister and Mom and occasionally his grandmother. Every time I watch Hook I tell my family the story of being with Valerie and Tino and Mom at grandmas on a Sunday night. She made the most amazing prime rib dinner with a little ice cream cake for dessert and something about that night just felt special to me, I just felt like I was with family. Tino helped me through the passing of my brother and Mom last year and I just can not believe he is gone. He was a good man and friend always, and the world lost another beautiful piece of it. He was always like a brother to me in every way, my first friends when I moved back to Florida from Michigan. What I know is the party is growing beyond this world and leaving this world is getting less scary knowing all of those I love and we’re so special in my life are together waiting at peace. Love you always my sweet friend. Love to the family and prayers for continued comfort.

With Love, Tricia
