William Pompos, age 85, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away on July 11, 2024. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 29, 1939. William was the oldest of two boys and served as a firefighter for the cities of Dayton, Ohio and Hialeah, Florida. Together with his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria, William raised four children.
William is survived by three children: Tina (Patrick) Kelly, Tim (Sherry) Pompos, and Greg Pompos; eight grandchildren including: Andrew (Emily) Kelly, Erik (Stephanie) Kelly, Madison (Diego) Pompos, Melissa (Trey) Mansfield, Melanie (Yones) Pompos, and Luke (Taylor) Pompos and six great-grandchildren: Olivia Kelly, Owen Kelly, Oliver Kelly, Peter Mansfield, Hazel Mansfield, and Luka Pompos. He is predeceased by his parents: Bill Pompos and Mary Yuknawicz; his brother, Ronnie Pompos and his wife, Maria Pompos.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Eulogies and Sharing Memories at 11:00 AM at Boyd’s Family Funeral Home located at 1600 N. University Drive Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Chapel, 1500 N. State Road 7 North Lauderdale, Florida 33068.

Condolences to the family on your loss. I worked with Bill at the Hialeah Fire Department but my contact with him was limited as we were on different shifts. I remember him as a straight forward guy who wanted to improve the service. I hope his retirement time was filled with joy and contentment.
