Amalia Adelaida Mora, age 86 of Hollywood, Florida, known by all as “Ita Mayita” passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at approximately 10am. She was born in South America’s Guayaquil, Ecuador, on October 16, 1933. She was the youngest of three, with an older sister named America and an older brother named Jose. She grew up Catholic and her favorite Saint was San Judas Tadeo. She was married at the age of 24 on January 26, 1957 and went to live at the Galapagos Island where her husband was a serviceman in the Navy. She had 2 children, Margie and Micky. At the age of 36 in 1969, she migrated to Los Angeles, California, as a permanent resident, specifically to reunite with her husband and follow the American Dream. She soon faced many challenges and obstacles which resulted in having to make the decision to go back home defeated or take the challenge to succeed. She decided to stay and learn a new way of life. In 1970, she was hired as a factory worker trimming bathing suits and making $2.98 per hour. Soon thereafter, she transitioned to become an entrepreneur selling vitamins for Shaklee and cosmetics for Avon while raising her children well and never forgetting to help out the parents she left back home. By 1973 she learned to drive and embraced her independence as a single parent by becoming the owner a red Pinto that would transport her and her children into their new lives. On Sundays, her favorite place to dine was Sizzler. In 1981, she relocated to Miami, Florida to help her daughter with her newborn. Shortly thereafter, her daughter’s family grew and she rededicated her life to raising all 3 of her grandchildren. Her son later relocated to FL and gave her 2 additional granddaughters to love as well. And that’s how she became known as “Ita Mayita” by all her grandchildren and great grand-children. She’s been the staple to the family and she will be missed dearly by her daughter Margie, her son Micky, her grand-daughter, caretaker, and bestie Jessie, her grandson Ramiro, her grandson Joshua, her grand-daughter Crissy, her youngest grand-daughter Jenny, and grandson Jonah. Ita Mayita will also be missed by all 7 great grand-children as well as by the rest of the family. She dedicated her life to keep the family together and now God has taken her home but we know she will be watching over all of us. She will be honored by all of us by keeping our memories of her alive.

Dearest Margie and family
The road that we trod opens up at birth and ends at death, and during our time on earth, we all thrive to be successful, live life to the fullest, being mindful of the frailty of life.
That well traveled road will be filled with happiness, joys sadness, but also fraught with challenges and struggles. But God held the hands of Ita Mayita and steadied her as she walked.
Now she is being welcomed home, by a loving Father, together with all the Angel’s and the Saints.
” Well done my good and faithful servant”
The Psalmist comforts us..
” As a father is kind to his children, so The Lord is kind to those who honor him. For he knows what we are made of, he remembers we are dust. As for us, our lives are like grass. We grow and we flourish like wildflower, then the wind blows on it,and it is gone and no one sees it again.”
Fare the well Ita Mayita.
Prayers for all.
