Ann Irving was my Aunt my favorite Aunt. She was born to be a nurse always taking care of someone. If she did not become a nurse she would have been a great interrogator. When I was a little kid she would always talk to me and somehow get me to tell her everything. I always told Aunt Annie everything. Family secrets, told her, someone doing something behind her back, told her, I ratted out adults and children alike. When I was young my mother, my sister and myself would come down and stay the whole summer. I never heard Aunt Annie complain about having us stay with her even in the duplex. I don’t know how she did it work all night and take care of everyone during the day and I never saw her get more then a few hours of sleep. She was the best daughter she took care of my Baba until Baba passed away at 95. Even when I was little I thought she had it tough in life maybe because being the oldest. She always worried about her siblings and was always taking care of them. I was told in the Serbian tradition you name your children after someone you admire. I gave my daughter the first name Sophie because of Baba and her middle name is Ann after Aunt Annie. I know she is at peace she is with my Baba, Jede, Uncle Bill and my brother Tommy.
