Anthony “Tony” Samuel  Nardiello, age 92, passed away on March 31, 2019, in Sunrise, Florida. He was born in the Bronx, NY and grew up on Long Beach, Long Island.

He loved the beach, lifeguarding, Frank Sinatra, the Yankees and NY Jets. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and could frequently be found at the nearest deli or Italian bakery, enjoying delicious Italian food, especially sausage, meatballs and cannolis. Tony attended Saint Ann’s Academy, where he was voted Most Athletic and Seton Hall University where he played both basketball and baseball. He also served in the US Navy. He went on to marry Arlene Carol (Pelizzari) in 1953. She predeceased him in 1988. They raised their loving family in Middletown, NJ. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance for over 25 years, but it was his role as a father and husband that he considered his profession. Tony was very involved in the local politics in Monmouth County where he served on many boards and committees. He was an avid sports fan- you could find him at Yankee Stadium, at a local sporting event or coaching one of his four kids’ sports teams.

He is survived by his children: Dan (Mary) Nardiello, Rich (Connie) Nardiello,  Arlene (Bob) Flick and Caryl Ann (Larry) Tolchinsky; grandchildren: Major USMC DJ Nardiello, Jamie (Nick) DeVecchis, Kristin (Stephen) Garten, Mike (Amanda) Nardiello, Bryn and Cade Tolchinsky and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. With a Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 7:00 PM

In honor of dad’s love for the Yankees, please wear any Yankees attire or Yankee colors, we know it would make Dad smile from heaven.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted in Tony’s memory at https://www.floridabreastcancer.org/ for research in the fight to cure breast cancer, which took the lives of his sister, Geraldine and wife, Arlene, and affected both of his daughters.
