Antonio Vasano passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. He was 90 years old. Antonio was born in 1929 in Havana, Cuba and came from a large family of 7 brothers and 2 sisters. He travelled to the United States several times before making it his home in 1961. Antonio was an accountant, much loved by his clients who enjoyed his advice and conversation. He met his wife of 47 years, Dania in 1968 in Miami where he finally settled. They married and later had two daughters Aileen and Darlene. He loved his children and later his grandchild, Alaric with all his heart and was an exemplary father and grandfather. Antonio was an avid reader and enjoyed reflecting on and writing about life. He loved history, politics, and books about self-improvement. He always strove to see life in a positive light and knew the importance of living fully and enjoying the present. He lived life with enthusiasm and blessed his family with many vacations and positive memories. His favorite destination was Walt Disney World because he felt like a child there. He loved waking up in the early morning, going for walks in Miami, and sharing café con leche and breakfast with his wife. Antonio enjoyed movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood, musicals, and listening to music (Tango- in particular). In 2017, he moved to Hollywood, Florida, to be closer to his children and although his time there was short he was always proud of owning a home in Hollywood with “two gardens”.
Antonio leaves behind a powerful legacy. His positivity, love of learning, willingness to move forward without fear or regret, and his enthusiasm for living will always be cherished.
Antonio is survived by his wife of 47 years: Dania Vasano. His daughters: Aileen (Kurt) Dannwolf and Darlene (Barry) Vasano-Jones; grandson: Alaric Dannwolf; and several brothers and sisters.
