Aurore Beaulieu Durand, age 105 beloved Mother and Nana, went to be with our Lord on July 24, 2020 at home surrounded in love by her family.
Aurore is reunited in heaven with her husband of 56 years, Jerome A. Durand, her daughter Francine Godown, and two Great-Granddaughters.
Aurore was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts on February 5, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Alvina Beaulieu. Aurore was the third of four children, she had two brothers and one older sister. She shared many stories of her early years in Ipswich, where her family was known as the “musical family”, neighbors would sit out on their porch in the evening to listen to Beaulieu family and specifically Aurore singing. She went on to perform as an Opera singer in many venues throughout Massachusetts, which held many fond memories. On May 1, 1948, she married the love of her life, Jerome. Her life with Jerome held many adventures, from raising three children, moving to South Florida in 1955, owning a Drive In restaurant “Durands” during the 60’s in Hollywood Florida, owning and operating a full line vending company to traveling around the World. During these many endeavors three things remained constant, her catholic faith and devotion to the Virgin Mother, knitting and her love for her family. Her grandchildren share loving memories of weekends at Nana and Grandpa’s, spending summers in the Florida Keys, Holidays; especially Christmas Eve, Church on Sundays and the many sweaters and blankets that were knitted not only with love but with a prayer in every stitch. These blankets were shared with family and friends around the world.
Aurore is survived by her daughter Marcelle McCallahan, her son David (Kathy) Durand, 10 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.

We are so sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you all. Your mom/grandmother was a very special lady! (We still have the wonderful blanket she knitted for Christopher in 1984 and shall cherish it always).
