Avis N. Nelson, 89, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away March 19, 2021. She was born in Glengoffe, Jamaica on September 18, 1931.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lancelot and Hilda Hammond; her brothers: Vancliffe Hammond and her son: Robert Andre Nelson.

Avis is survived by her sisters: Veronica Cornwell, Winnifred Hammond, Maria Hammond and Judith Brown; brothers: Hubert Hammond and Holden Hammond; several nieces, nephews and a loving extended family.

Funeral Services to be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at New Life Assembly of God Church, 7875 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Graveside Services to follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North Cemetery, 3001 N. 72nd Avenue, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
