Barry Louis Mitchell, 74, passed away peacefully in his Pembroke
Pines, FL home on February 27th, 2015.

Barry was born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY where he
attended school and met his future bride Joanne Brassell.

A veteran of the United States Army, Barry proudly served his country
from 1960 -1964 receiving an honorable discharge. Upon his return
from service, Barry went on to marry Joanne Brassell September 26th,
1964. Barry worked as a bartender in New York City until 1971. In
1971, Barry joined a fledgling Japanese manufacturer of televisions
and radios; that company was Sony Corporation. A natural salesman,
Barry helped grow Sony into one of the leading consumer electronics
companies in the world ultimately rising to Regional Vice President of
the Southeast.

Barry was preceded in death by wife Joanne in 1995 and is survived by
his adoring children and grandchildren: sons Brian Mitchell and
Michael Mitchell, daughter Bari Eve McCann, and grandchildren Peyton,
Jake, Bryson, Riley, Colin, and Reagan.

Those that new Barry remember him as a devoted family man, for his
generosity, and his great sense of humor; he will be missed dearly.

In lieu of a flowers, the family asks that you consider making a small
donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, American Lung
Association, or a veterans charity of your choice.
