Our dear friend, I can hardly type this for crying. I miss you so terribly much! I know God has a plan. He will be our strength and refuge. I am so sad but so happy that you are now with Jesus. What a reunion I bet you are having with your dad in heaven. We will always treasure our friendship with you. All the fun trips you made to Jasper and our visits to Florida and all the phone calls. We became friends instantly. God knew and he put us in each others life. We will remember you as a wonderful loving friend who always put others first. Your love ran deep and especially for Amari. I will be her prayer warrior each day. I promise you this! We will not say goodby because we will join you one day when God calls us home. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17. Love you always dear friend. Leatte and Ray Cherokee as you called Ray that puts a smile on my face.

Our family was shocked and saddened to hear of Cecilia’s passing. She was a wonderful person, devoted daughter and mother. Our families met in Virginia in the early 60s when we were in elementary school and stayed in touch over 50 years. Over that time we visited several times and found that Cecilia had grown to be a beautiful person – strong, bright, confident and kind. Our family sends our deepest condolences to Cecilia, Luis and all of the family. We are prayng for you.

My family was a neighbor of the Albuernes in 1960s in Newport News, VA just after they left Cuba. They were all great friends of ours and our families have maintained contact ever since. We will all miss Cecilia very much and I will always remember her bright smile from those early days in VA. I saw her for the last time about 18 months ago when I visited her Mother Cecelia’s home in Hollywood.

Cecilia was a professional colleague at CCHS. We had many morning chats in the “new building.” Such a caring teacher, she reached out to many students needing the extra love and attention they were missing in their lives. I am saddened by her passing, and sending my condolences to her family whom she adored.

Cecilia and I taught on the same floor at CCHS. We shared many stories about our bouts with cancer, our daughters, and our granddaughters. I found out about her passing this Sunday. I feel terribly that I missed her visitation and funeral. She was a spunky lady!

I just heard the sad news today. Strange, I hadn’t heard anything of Linc and Cecilia for years but they had been in my mind of late so I posted a message on Cecilia’s Facebook page a month or so ago. When Cecilia came to Hallandale as an Interim Principal she certainly stirred up many things …and in the process she stole Linc’s heart! It was beautiful to watch. She brought the sunshine back into his life. She will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to all those who loved and cherished her. May she rest peacefully with the angels in heaven.

Sincerely,

Barbara Bond
