Charles Briggs Siceloff, Jr. (Charlie), age 92, of Pembroke Pines, FL, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born on March 6, 1929 in Williamston, NC, to the late Charles and Jeanette Siceloff.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie, his daughters Patricia (John) Gudridge, Christine (Manuel) Sone, and son Chuck (Susan) Siceloff. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Margie. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Alana, Manny, Amy, and Carlos.
He attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill before leaving to enlist in the US Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an F86 pilot and received the Distinguished Flying Cross medal along with other medals during his service. He was stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA, where he met his wife of almost 67 years.
They moved to Hialeah when he became a commercial airline pilot. He later became a Flight Inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) before moving into management, which gave them the opportunity to live in Madrid, Spain for two years. While there, they enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Western Europe. He retired at the age of 62.
He was intelligent, humorous, affectionate, and caring. He enjoyed the beach and playing golf and tennis with his wife and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, who will also miss his guidance, support, laughter and love.
A private Catholic mass will be held at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church on April 29, 2021 followed by burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Catherine West Hospice, 8850 NW 122nd Street, Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018. The most wonderful, caring, and compassionate nurses and staff took such excellent care of him in the last days of his life. May he rest in peace in Heaven.
