DeWinn, Donald A., 83, a US Navy Veteran, of Pembroke Pines, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, after a long illness. Donald was born on September 25, 1930, in Wilkes-Berre, PA, to the late Chester DeWinn and Emily Dworchak. He serviced in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander for many years. He was always very proud of his accomplishments with the Navy. He is survived by his niece, Kathi-Lee and his sister-in-law, Barbara. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m., Sunday at Boyd-Panciera University Dr. Chapel. Prayer Service with Military Honor Guard will be 7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at Boyd Panciera University Dr. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, PA.

I love you so much! You were my 1st friend and Best Friend. So selfless and good. Thank you for always taking care of me And my boys. They do love their Grandpa Don. For Loving me for me. I remember looking at the stars through your telescope during my childhood, seeing the sun and even Hailey’s comet. Thank you for helping make some special memories. Now you’re living among the stars you loved so much. -Melanie
