Van Dam, Dorothy J., a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, of Hollywood, entered in to eternal life on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the age of 78. Dorothy was born on April 9, 1938, in Manhattan, New York, to the late John Fitzpatrick and Lillian Orourke. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to take care of each and every one of them. She was a volunteer at Memorial Regional Hospital for over 24 years, she even had a hole in one in her spare time. She will be deeply missed by all. Predeceased by two of her angels, daughter, Donna Shields and Michael Shields. Survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Franklyn Van Dam; her other 4 angels, John (Linda) Shields, Jean (Joseph) Schantz, Daniel Shields and Dennis Shields; her pride and joy, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Schifano; and 3 step-children. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 2-3 p.m. There will be a Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 3:00 p.m. Reception will immediately follow all at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, Hollywood Boulevard Chapel.
