Beth Meyer, 73, of Hollywood, died Sunday, October 5, 2014, following a massive stroke on September 26. She was born in Manhattan, NY, on August 30, 1941, to Steven and Getrude Vereb. She graduated from Eastern Christian School in Haledon, NJ, attended Shelton College near Ramsay, NJ and served as an Executive Secretary to owners of the leading paving contractors in North Jersey. She studied Dentistry and finished helping manage an Orthodontic Practice near Ridgewood, NJ. Beth married Peter Meyer at Valley Bible Chapel in Westwood, NJ, on July 10, 1965 and moved to Fort Lauderdale, then, settling down in Hollywood in the same house almost 48 years. She is survived by her husband, Peter; one daughter, Elizabeth Iszler and her husband, Timothy; her mother, Gertrude Vereb; The Iszler grandchildren are Madison, Taylor, Caleb, Levi, McKenzie and Jackson and also, granddog, Chance. Our son Stephen was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident 11 years ago. He left behind two sons, Jeremy, now 22 and Riley, 12. His wife remarrried and is now living in Germany, two more grandchildren were added. Beth was very active iin AAU swimming activities helping out the South Broward High School Team in fundraising events and spent countless hours driving Elizabeth and others swimmers to practices and competitive events. She enjoyed taking trips to the Orlando area and the North Carolina mountains with 7 of those grandchildren and her husband. Early in her marriage she was a hospitable hostess at church, opening her home for baby showers, Bible studies and assisted her husband promoting Billy Graham films. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. In N.J. at Valley Bible she was very active in ladies activities; served homeless and disadvantaged men at McCalley Rescue Mission in New York City and coordinated the social and evangelistic activities of the Metropolitan Ambassadors for Christ, an outreach group that came alongside struggling churches with aging congregations. During this time her future husband finished college at Rutgers University, joined N.J. Bell Telephone, then, left to start and finish a tour in South Korea as an Army Finance Officer near Seoul. Soon after he returned, they were married. The family will have a Celebration of Her Life on Sunday, October 12, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Hollywood Bible Chapel, 2300 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL 33020.
