Emma Gushwa, of Coconut Creek, Florida was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away at age 90 on January 7, 2021. Emma is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roy Edward Gushwa, their five children: Edward Gushwa (Kathy), Ann Gushwa Flynn, Jill Gushwa Josephson (Steven), Mary Gushwa and Carol Gushwa. Grandchildren: Courtney Flynn, Shane Flynn, Jack Flynn, Joseph John Heffernan, Brenna Flynn and Caroline Josephson.

Before her marriage to Roy she was an Executive Secretary, in St. Louis, Missouri and worked for Falstaff Brewing Co., an iconic St. Louis beer brewery at the time.

Emma was born to the late Mary P. and Joseph J. Schlumm in St. Louis, Missouri. She is pre-deceased by siblings: Joseph Schlumm, Paul Schlumm, Mary Schlumm Booth and Martha Schlumm Mudd, and she is survived by brothers: Leo Schlumm, John Schlumm, Christopher Schlumm and James Schlumm.

Emma devoted herself to her family and church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as dining out with friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a good joke and was a great conversationalist.
