Errol Ernest Carter, father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 76.
Errol was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on January 27, 1950 and was raised by Edgar and Gwendolyn Carter with strong family values and Faith in Jehovah that guided him during his youthful years. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Carter Jr. and Delroy Carter, and is survived by his sister, Joy Champagnie.
Following his marriage to Rose May Carter in Jamaica in 1975, the couple relocated to Miami, Florida in 1978. They eventually settled in Miramar, Florida, where they welcomed their only child and daughter, Charde Carter (now Veteto) in 1989. Though they later divorced, Errol and Rose maintained a rare and deeply committed friendship until his passing. Errol will also be survived by an expected grandchild whom he was eagerly anticipating, Carter James Veteto, due in November 2026.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Errol lived a life rooted in faith, quietly offering kindness, love, and support to those around him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including a love for all genres of music and an uninhibited passion for dancing. As a sports enthusiast, he spent time both playing and watching soccer, track and field, basketball, tennis, and football. Errol’s quiet strength and humble devotion to his loved ones will be missed.

“From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them.
Where are your stings, O Death?
Where is your destructiveness, O Grave?
Compassion will be concealed from my eyes.”
