Georgie Newton Watson: November 6, 1930 – March 19, 2015
Georgie was the third of five sons of Share Croppers Prentice and Wilma Watson in the Township of Celine, Tennesse. In the early 1940’s the family moved from Tennessee to Chrisman, Illinois and continued to work as Share Croppers. 1948 was a very significant year for Georgie. Things would be set in motion that affected the rest of his life. In January 1948 Georgie made the decision to follow in the footsteps of his older siblings and join the Military. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, which became a lifetime career. In November of that same year, just before Thanksgiving, he met Patricia Joan Hewitt, who became the love of his life. They married in February 1950. Georgie’s military career began in 1948 and ended in 1971. He served in many places throughout the world: Korea, France, Germany, Viet Nam, Spain, and Turkey. Georgie ended his 22-year military career at Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock, Texas. Georgie and Patricia’s life together spanned 55 years. In good times and bad, they stood together raising a family. Teaching their children the value of love for one another, to be truthful in all things, to take pride in your work and most importantly family stands together. His Father, Mother, sister Edith, brothers Mayford, Elford, Paul and wife Patricia preceded Georgie in death. Georgie is survived by his brother Gene, 5 children Susan, Debbie, Teresa, Barbara and Randy. 7 Grand Children Shelby, Shelley, Sabrina, Tara, Stephanie, Telesa and Christopher. 12 Great Grand Children Cassandra, Kade Everret, Sienna, Trey, Teegan, Tabbi, Trevin, Tanner Kade, Keegan, Harlie, Darian, and Alyssa. Friends may visit from 6-8 PM, Monday at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Blvd. Chapel. Tributes of a Lifetime Services will be 7:00 PM, Monday, Mar. 23, at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Blvd. Chapel.
