Georgina G. Ortega, age 93, of Hallandale Beach, Florida, formally from California, passed away while under the care of Hospice Accentcare located in Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida on February 21, 2024. She passed of natural causes.

We migrated to the United States in June of 1965 and arrived in Miami from Havana, Cuba. After a short while being here with my Father’s Sister Idalia Lovato Ortega, we flew to California to meet our Spaniard Mexican uncles and aunts from my Mother’s Father’s Brother side of the family that sponsored and claimed us to come to the United States. There we started Our Lives.

My father started working right away for Goodwill Industries earning $1.37 an hour as a truck driver as my mother was in a Septic Coma in General Hospital in California of a Ruptured Appendix. She made it through, God had a plan for Her and our Family. She then started working at Industrial Design in Culver City on a production line building heaters for war tanks. She worked there 28 years of her life along with my father to give us a better life.

She was born in Havana Cuba on May 24, 1930, to the late Enrique Gonzalez and Margarita Garcia Gonzalez. She married Leonel R. Ortega in 1948 in Cuba. He passed of ALS On November 18, 1985, at the age of 62. She is survived by Her son Ernesto L. Ortega, Idalia Lavado Ortega, Her husband’s sister. Also, Her Sister Irene Gonzalez, Nieces Teresita Gonzalez, Enaida Gonzalez, Rebecca Gonzalez Griselita Gonzalez, Margarita Gonzalez, Sussie Lozano Gonzalez, Silvia Lozano Gonzalez and Family, Nephew Javier Gonzalez, Wife Laura and Little Isaias, Robert Jr. Gonzalez and Family, Sister in-law, Nancy Gonzalez.

She was named Queen Miss Castillanos in Havana Cuba in 1948. She was proudly riding upon a parade float waving to the crowd as they cheered Her on. She was My Father’s Beautiful Queen, which he asked me before passing, to always take care of his Beloved Queen, in which I promised and kept my word. She was a devoted loving wife and mother of two children: Ernie and Norma Ortega, who sadly passed away August 21, 2020, of Metastatic Breast Cancer.

She was a great loving people person, that was always willing to help and feed the hungry.

She was and will always be my Best Friend and Beloved Wonderful Beautiful Mother.

She will surely be missed by all.

May You Rest in Heavenly Peace, and May the Lord Jesus Christ Reunite All of Our Family Whom Are in Heaven. In Jesus name Amen.

She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City California, next to my father and her husband, inside a mausoleum.

My sincere thank you to all that loved and cared for Her.

I Will Forever Love You and You Will Always Be My Guardian Angel God Love You Mamá.

Arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care located at 1600 N. University Drive Pembroke Pines, Florida 33020.
