March 27, 1947~October 28, 2018

Geraldine L. Hoehl, age 71, of Miami Gardens, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, October 28, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, one of five children born to the late Rufus and Virginia Thompson. Her parents relocated to south Florida when Geraldine was just a baby and has been in Florida ever since. She worked in Palm Springs North Elementary School for over 25 years as the cafeteria monitor and was also part of the  after school daycare program. On January 26, 1979, she married the love of her life whom she met by chance on a blind date because he wasn’t the original date to begin with. That is a story they always laughed about. God knew they were meant to be and made it happened. They shared almost 40 years together raising a beautiful, happy family. There were so many good things about Geraldine that it is hard to list them all but to name a few, she was a true hard worker, generous, caring, had a great personality with awesome sense of humor. She enjoyed to travel, loved the outdoors specially gardening and would always look forward to the “Girl’s Weekend” with her sisters and of course we can’t forget she loved her cocktails. We will truly miss her but will remember all the fond memories we have of her. Her memory will always be cherished by her husband, Nelson Hoehl; children, Gary Lee (Janie) Lenker, Wayne Lee Lenker, Nelson Robert Hoehl, Alfred Joseph Hoehl and Christy Lynn Sazanow; siblings, Ginger Hutchinson, Jimmy (Pam) Thompson, Joanne (Nolin) Jackson and Robert (Karen) Thompson; her beloved grandchildren, Ollie, Steven, Nicole Ty, Tiana and great-grandchildren, Destiny, Julius and Maddon. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 3rd, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. A tribute to her life will begin at 4:00 PM.

?I have many fond memories of our beloved Ms. Hoehl. I was a teacher at PSN before transferring to Bob Graham. She was always "tough," but VERY loving with the students. I will remember her infectious laugh and sense of humor! She touched the lives of many people. She will be missed. May His peace be with the family. The Millares’
