Hermógenes Solano Montilla, affectionately known to all of us as “Guarile,” and an automotive technician by profession, was born on August 29, 1942, in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic.
In January 1973, he married Norma Iris Colón Colón, his “Jincha” as he fondly called her. He had four children: Esther, Myriam, Ángel, and Natalie; and eight grandchildren: Kristal, Jazmín, Miguel, Hezekiel, Matthew, Alondra, Julietenid, and Rosa Victoria.

He was the first pastor and musician of our church in the Dominican Republic. He developed as a musician, singer, and composer by divine work and grace, as he had no formal musical education. In 1968, he founded the Dominican Brothers Choir.

He composed over 132 songs and produced 5 records: El Coro Dominicano, Tu Diestra Me Sostendrá, Dichos y Hechos de Mita, Amor Celestial, and El Puente del Amor.

In 1985, he moved with his family and his guitar to Miami. For many years he served as a pastor in the Miami Congregation and visited brothers and sisters in Ocala, Orlando and Tampa. He carried out much social work, lovingly helping and sheltering in his home fellow believers who came to Miami with some need.

His favorite sport was baseball, and he always took responsibility for organizing teams to share at church family events. In 2019, he participated in the “Somos Uno” International Softball Tournament as one of the pitching coaches of the women’s team “SunRays,” representing Florida.

He was a good husband, father, grandfather, uncle, soninlaw, and brotherinlaw. He enjoyed every moment with his family, fellow believers, and neighbors.

Guarile was and will continue to be very loved and remembered by all of us who had the blessing of knowing him.

A Visitation will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM with a Tribute of a Lifetime Service at 7:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, located at 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

A Religious Service will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, located at 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024. 

A burial will follow on September 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Vista Memorial Gardens, located at 14200 NW 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014.

Hermógenes Solano Montilla, a quien cariñosamente todos conocíamos como “Guarile”, y técnico automotriz de profesión, nació el 29 de agosto de 1942 en San
Cristóbal, República Dominicana.

En enero de 1973 contrajo matrimonio con Norma Iris Colón Colón, su “jincha” como el solía decirle. Tuvo 4 hijos: Esther, Myriam, Ángel y Natalie; y 8 nietos, Kristal, Jazmín, Miguel, Hezekiel, Matthew, Alondra, Julietenid y Rosa Victoria.

Fue el primer obrero y músico de la República Dominicana. Se desarrolló como músico, cantante y compositor por obra y gracia divina, pues no tuvo ninguna educación musical. En el 1968 fue el fundador del Coro de Hermanos Dominicanos. Compuso sobre 132 himnos y 5 grabaciones discográficas: El Coro Dominicano, Tu Diestra Me Sostendrá, Dichos y Hechos de Mita, Amor Celestial y El Puente del amor.

En el año 1985 se trasladó a la ciudad de Miami con su familia y su guitarra. Por muchos años fue obrero en la Congregación de Miami y visitaba a los hermanitos de Ocala, Orlando y Tampa.

Realizó mucha labor social, ayudando y albergando en su hogar con mucho amor a hermanos en la fe que venían a Miami con alguna necesidad.

Su deporte favorito era el béisbol y siempre se ocupaba de organizar equipos para compartir en eventos familiares de la iglesia. En el año 2019 participó en el Torneo
Internacional de Softball “Somos Uno” como uno de los coaches de picheo del equipo femenino “SunRays” en representación de la Florida.

Fue un buen esposo, padre, abuelo, tío, yerno y cuñado. Disfrutaba de cada momento con su familia, hermanos en la fe y vecinos.

Guarile fue y será muy amado y recordado por todos los que tuvimos la bendición de conocerlo.

El velatorio tendrá lugar el lunes 31 de agosto de 2026, de 6:00 p. m. a 10:00 p. m., con un servicio de homenaje a la vida a las 7:00 p. m. en Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, ubicado en 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

El servicio religioso se llevará a cabo el martes 1 de septiembre de 2026 a las 11:00 a. m. en Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, ubicado en 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

El sepelio tendrá lugar a continuación, el 1 de septiembre de 2026 a la 1:00 p. m., en Vista Memorial Gardens, ubicado en 14200 NW 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014.
