Jacquelyne (Jackie) Newnam Cameron of Hollywood, Florida went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2018. Jackie was born in North Carolina in 1927, the youngest of Phillip Newnam and Maggie Bell Mills’ seven children. She married USMC Tech Sergeant Charles Cameron in 1950 and was happily married until his passing in 1978. As a young military wife and mother, she supported her husband and her country by selling war bonds. Jackie was an avid reader, a huge fan of crossword puzzles, and always up for a good game of Scrabble. From her birth in 1927 to her death 91 years later, she was vibrant and full of humor.
Jackie is survived by her children and spouses Max & Janet Cameron, Danny & Edna Cameron, Regina Cameron, John Cameron, Richard Cameron, and Ann Margaret & David Hanson; additional survivors include 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was truly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. with prayer service on Sunday January 21, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, Florida. The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday January 22, 2018 at St. David Catholic Church, located at 3900 S University Drive, Davie, FL 33328. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Miami.
