James Michael Radke, of Dania Beach, died May 18, 2014 at the young age of 45, as the result of an accidental drowning near his houseboat docked at Dania Beach Marina. James Jimmy was born October 25, 1968 in Hollywood, Florida, the son of George Michael Mike and Irene Radke nee Doyle. He attended school in South Florida, and was a journeyman electrician. Jimmy was a kind, gentle and spiritual soul, devoted to his family and friends, and an avid lover of music, boating and nature.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, Mike and Irene, of Dania Beach; his sister, Deborah Radke Hanley, of Plantation; and his niece, Lauren Victoria Hanley, of Los Angeles. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, and many dear friends.
Jimmy’s funeral will be held at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Boulevard Chapel located at 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Florida 33024 on Friday, May 23, 2014. Visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Tribute of Lifetime Service will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by a reception until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to Environmental Working Group donations@ewg.org in Jimmy’s memory.

Goodbye to my dear friend, Jim. You are gone way too soon, and we miss you so much already. Thank you for all you did for me when I had nothing and no place to live and no family. You were there to help with your dad when he let us rent one of his apartments so I didn’t have to sleep in their boat in the back of their house. You were such a great friend to all that knew you.. this is such a tragic loss. You never expected anything in return for your friendship. Thank you for the time you were here for us.
