What a cherished blessing to have this man in my life. Uncle and Godfather he was always there for me and I will miss him very much. So many wonderful memories: cigar clenched in his teeth and that all knowing hint of a smile as he quietly stood back, taking in the scene…then he would look you in the eye and with a simple “huh” as he gestured towards WHATEVER was catching our attention….he spoke volumes with those little “huhs”. Rest in peace dear uncle. Thank you for your service to this country and to this family. I am so very thankful for the years I had with you. With love, Lorna

Everyone should have in their life a member of the family with quiet strength, dancing eyes and sardonic wit. We were lucky to have had all of those qualities and more in Uncle John.

The strength and assuredness he offered to me when my Dad his brother died never left my mind, or my heart.

His dry, arid, biting, caustic sense of humor is one that I grew up emulating…and I was never so proud as to learn from my sister one day that I had achieved, quoting her, “Uncle John Status” in the eyes of her two sons. Success, indeed!!

Goodbye, Uncle John. I’ll love you always. It’s reassuring knowing that the team is back together again…you and Aunt Joyce; remembered by me, fondly and forever, as “AJ & The Big Guy”

My deepest sympathy to Johns family. He was a very special man. I can still see him sitting outside St. Monica’s Parish every Sunday greeting all as they went into the church. He will truly be missed. May God give you the family the strength to get through this difficult time.
