John Regis McElwee, age 82 of Hollywood, Florida, passed away February 20, 2024. He was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1941 to the late James and Mary McElwee.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Graham.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nina McElwee; sons: John McElwee and Dave (Wendy) McElwee; grandchildren: Lindsay McElwee, Meghan McElwee, Laney Ortiz, Abbey Ortiz and Riley McElwee and brothers: Jim McElwee and Paul McElwee.

When I think of my brother, one thought keeps coming back: That was a life worth living; he did it his way!
One of my early recollections was John going out Friday nights into the Everglades to drag race his car against others. I can say more but that’s just one example of what most of us don’t/can’t do.
John, it’s never perfect but you did good and you did it!
