John Vincent McAvoy, 84, a long time resident of Pembroke Pines, passed away September 7, 2016. Born on April 4, 1932, in Queens, New York. The son of the late James McAvoy and Helen Greene. A proud US Army veteran who served between 1952-1954. He is survived by his children, John McAvoy, Linda (Rey) Perez, Richard (Lael) McAvoy and grandchildren, Andrea, Ryan, Tyler, Eric, Cheyenne and Emma. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016, starting at 6:00 p.m. with Tributes of a Lifetime Service and Military Honors at 7:00 p.m. all at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
