Jozsef “Maszek” Majoros, age 75, of North Miami Beach, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 22, 2019.
He was born on January 9, 1944, in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, to the late Jozsef and Margit Majoros.
Like most Hungarian men those days, he was very handy. As a child along with his younger brother he learned upholstery from his father who had a private shop doing upholstery, and he built most of the beautiful furniture in their home. With the help of his friends, he also built a beautiful vacation home and a wine cellar. As a young adult, Jozsef served in the Hungarian Army as a Sergeant for 5 years.
He was a bookkeeper by trade, which he did only for a very short time. He was also one of the first people in Hungary who learned how to use the ancestors of the modern computers, the punched card computer. For many years he was a buyer for a couple of different companies, which suited his personality very well. He could not sit in one place, he was always on the go, loved “wheeling and dealing” and interact with people, and everyone loved him, because he was a smart, very funny, cheerful man.
December of 1994, shortly before their first grandchild Alexis was born, him and his wife sold everything they had and moved to Florida so their family can be whole again.
On August of 2018, him and his wife accomplished their dream and became proud citizens of the United States.
Jozsef will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Erzsebet Majoros; his two loving daughters, Gabriella Majoros and Aniko (Thomas) Lehoczky; his brother, Andor (Jutka) Majoros; his two adored grandchildren, Alexis Lehoczky and Christopher Revilla; and two nephews, Andor Majoros and Robert Majoros.
A tribute to Jozsef’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27th, between 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
