Wood, June 103 a pioneer resident of Miami Beach since the early 1940’s passed away Wednesday October 9 at her home in Miami Beach. June was born in Gilman, IL 1910. She worked at the Caterpillar factory in Peoria, IL where she met and married Arthur Wood and moved to Miami in the early 30’s. She was the owner and President of Walsh & Wood Funeral Home of Miami Beach until her retirement in 1997 at the age of 87. June was active with St. Patrick Church as President of the PTA and the Patrician Club. She was also past President of the Miami Beach Woman’s Club. June loved riding her bike down North Bay Road accumulating over 40, 000 miles. Her home was literally filled with her paintings but her first love was always her family. Preceded in death by her husband Arthur, and 3 bothers; Orin, Leo and Leslie Bushey. She is survived by 2 children; Glenelle Wetzel, Jerry Lee Wood, Rosemary, 9 grandchildren; Patrick, Brian, Daniel, Stephen, Christopher, Matthew Wetzel, Angela Wetzel Stewart, Christopher and Holly Wood, and 19 great grandchildren. June will lie in repose from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Blvd Hollywood, FL 33024. With a Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 7:00 pm on Saturday October 12, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, October 14 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church of Miami Beach, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Miami Mausoleum.
