Leigh “Annette” Darling, 60, passed away on March 30, 2026. She lived in Cooper City, Florida, and spent most of her life in Central Florida, where she built a life centered around the people she loved most.
Annette was deeply passionate about her family and friends and was known for her kindness, warmth, and the way she showed up for others. She was a strong advocate for human rights and had a genuine desire to help those around her.
She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her ability to bring laughter into any room, and her unwavering loyalty, especially when it came to her beloved Miami Dolphins. More than anything, Annette cherished being a “Grammy.” Her eight grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took immense joy in every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her children: Brynn Madamba and husband Jomar, Heather Sweat and wife Chris, Ryan Sweat, Bethany Clark, Kerri Pitts and husband Jesse; her eight grandchildren, Jalen, Aiden, Maddox, Nolan, Royce, Chase, Roman, and Cora; as well as her siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends from all over.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Irving and Geri Darling.
Annette was a light in this world, and her love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service announcement will be made soon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Human Rights Campaign in her honor.
