Leonila A. Diaz, known as “Ara” to her friends and family,  age 87, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away on May 18, 2026. She was born in Havana, Cuba on January 17, 1939 to the late Julio Gonzalez Cuellar and Caridad Pontes Amor.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lazaro R. Diaz.

Leonila survived by her son, Lazaro “Ray” Diaz, Jr. and his wife, Anita; her daughter, Alina Diaz; her granddaughter, Amanda B. Diaz; her grandson, Bradley M. Diaz; her sister, Florence N. Kemper and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, (in the Chapel) 15801 NW 67th Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida 33014.
