Henry and Family, I am sorry to learn of your loss of Linda, she was a special person to have known. Larry and I divorced in 1989 and he remarried the same year. Lorrie our daughter lost her Dad, Larry in December of 2015. Henry, Lorrie and I would love to talk with you sometime, call her on her cell 704-906-4211 as I do not hear well on the phone even with my hearing aids. Is it truly selfish to want you back again? I could not calm your mind; I could not ease your pain; I thought my love would be enough to keep you here with me; But now I know that was never going to be. I loved you, I disliked you, we argued and we kissed; Your face, your touch, your scent forever I shall miss; To hold you in my arms again, my soul no longer lost; I’d pay the price and gladly have no worry to the cost. But God saw you were getting tired, And it was not meant to be, So he put his arms around you, And whispered,”come to me”. With tearful eyes I watched you, And saw you pass away, Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating. God broke my heart to prove to me, That he only takes the best. I will love you forever.

Linda, When in my thoughts and prayers about and for you, the following song came to mind *Be not afraid, I go before you always, come follow me, and I will give you rest." True to His teachings, He was always with you and will be there for Henry, Nathan and Mark until the end. Blessing to Henry, Mark and Nathan.

My first memory of Linda dates back 50 plus years ago. She was the stunning quiet teenage beauty at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Salem VA who seemed unapproachable until she meet Henry at Roanoke Catholic High. I don’t think she liked me much until she found out I was Henry’s best friend. After which, we seemed to be like family. I will be forever grateful for the encouragement she gave me to follow in Henry’s footsteps and finally get my degree at Virginia Tech, and for being my wife’s bride’s maid in our wedding in 1969. Jackie and I talk often about the fun we had reuniting at the class reunion a few years ago and then again at the VT football games later. Linda was so beautiful in so many ways and will be loved and missed by many for a long time.
