Luis Enrique “Luchito” Maturana Gonzales, 75, of La Victoria, Lima, Peru, passed away on February 23, 2024, in Miami, Florida. He was born on November 9, 1948.

Luis, known for his humor, kindhearted nature, and hardworking spirit, served in the military in Lima, Peru from June 20, 1968, until June 10, 1970. He was a humble, honest man known for being the king of his family, always putting the needs of his loved ones above his own.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Martha Maturana, his children Luis, Juan, and Marcos Maturana and his grandchildren Luis Jr., Samantha, Yaneiza, Christopher, and Juan Jr. Luis was preceded in death by his mother, Graciela Gonzales Ordinola, father Leopoldo Viso Maturana, his siblings Manuel and Maria Consuelo Maturana, and his half-siblings Milagros, Lilliana, and Nancy.

Luis pursued his educational journey at Carlos Pareja Paz Soldan High School and later attended Miami Dade College. He then went on to own LEM restaurant from 1992 to 2004, located in Harlem, New York. He also worked as a superintendent in New York from 1976 until his retirement in 2015.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 4th, 2024, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Following the viewing, a burial service will take place at 1:00 pm at Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
